Changes Coming to Disney Gift Card Website

If like me you enjoy collecting Disney gift cards to help pay for magical moments, you will want to take a look at this information that will bring changes to the Disney Gift Card website. (DisneyGiftCard.com)

Disney gift cards are great to add to your gift lists when you are planning a Disney vacation. Many times you can get them at a discounted rate at your local retailers. Right now Target offers 5% off all gift cards when you buy them using your Target Red Card.

We all know that we can accumulate a number of Disney gift cards for a single trip. Combining many cards onto one card is a handy thing that the Disney Gift Card website offers. However, the website is not intended to store your gift cards; you should make sure you always save the originals & a copy of the 16 digit codes & security codes.

Yesterday the website announced that they will be implementing some enhancements on 1/19/2021 that will be available on 1/20/2021. Starting 1/19/2021 you will not be able to login to the website while they are working on it. When the website is available again you will have to create a new login & none of your gift cards that are currently on there will be available. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A RECORD OF YOUR CURRENT GIFT CARDS ON THE WEBSITE.

BELOW are the details from Disney:

DisneyGiftCard.com will be upgraded on January 20, 2021. All existing DisneyGiftCard.com account details (logins and gift cards added) will no longer be available after January 19, 2021. As a reminder, your account is not a mobile wallet and should not be considered as such. Always be sure to keep your physical and digital Disney Gift Card(s) with you as it will be required to make any purchases.

Once live on January 20, 2021, the enhanced site will allow visitors to utilize their existing ‘Disney account’ to login; using the same login credentials across multiple Disney sites and apps including: shopDisney, My Disney Experience, WaltDisneyWorld.com and Disneyland.com.

Prior to the website enhancement on January 20, 2021, please be sure that you take the following steps:

  • Have access to your Disney Gift Card(s), including your full 16-digit account number and EAN to add your card(s) onto the updated website.
  • Starting January 20, 2021, please visit DisneyGiftCard.com to create a new account, or use your existing Disney account login, and enter your gift card(s) information into the My Cards section.

What do I do if I don’t have the card that I have saved on the website?

If you are no longer in possession of your physical or digital Disney Gift Card(s) that are currently on your account, you will need to transfer the balance(s) to a Disney Gift Card that you do have available. Please note that once the migration to the updated site is completed on January 20, 2021, all information currently stored will be deleted. Disney Gift Cards are currently accepted at:

  • Walt Disney World
  • Disneyland
  • Disney Cruise Line
  • Adventures by Disney
  • Shop Disney
  • Disney Store

Although I’m slightly disappointed that it looks like Disney will not offer any type of mobile wallet with this new enhancement, I’m still excited to see what they will bring to the new website. I think that their overall goal is to get everyone under one Disney login.

Tip: If you are using Disney gift cards to pay for a vacation, always remember to save those gift cards until you return. Any refunds will be processed back onto those gift cards that were used to pay with.
