Walt Disney World will be bringing fun & festive experiences to the theme parks for the holiday season this year. The holidays will be ‘reimagined’ due to the recent safety measures. Although things will look a little different, the holiday celebration will continue.
From Nov 6th through Dec 30th guests will be able to enjoy seasonal merchandise, food, entertainment and more throughout all four theme parks and extending into Disney Springs and resorts. This year Santa Claus will make special pop-up appearances in each location waving to guests and wishing them happy holidays.
Magic Kingdom will take on a special holiday twist with character cavalcades that include Christmas friends on holiday floats. Gingerbread Men, Elves Reindeer and even the Toy Soldiers will join the Main Street Philharmonic as they march through the park bringing holiday cheer.
Taking the place of the traditional castle dream lights, Cinderella Castle will become a colorful backdrop for photos when night falls. The castle will be transformed with a rotating series of designs brightly colored in an overlay of red, green and fold.
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party will not take place this year.
Animal Kingdom will have festive flotillas and I have no doubt there will be delicious treats offered
Epcot celebrate with holiday promenades, but the beloved Candlelight Processional will be on hiatus this year.
Starting a bit later on Nov 27th the Epcot International Festival of the Holidays will return with favorite holiday kitchens around the World Showcase.
The Voices of Liberty will continue to serenade guests with holiday music and JOYFUL will present a journey through R&B Gospel and traditional Christmas music inside the World ShowPlace.
Hollywood Studios merry motorcades will entertain guests and Minnie Mouse will still host her gathering at Hollywood & Vine, beginning Nov 6th, Santa Goofy will take the place of Minnie; both will be dressed in their holiday finest.
Disney Springs will spread their Christmas Tree trail throughout the shopping district where guests will discover these elaborately decorated trees around every corner. In the evening a magical snowfall will take place within Town Center, West Side and The Landing. More festivities and decorations will be expected.
Walt Disney World Resorts will still be decked out for the holidays. The lobbies will feature the iconic trees and holiday touches. However, the gingerbread displays will not return to the Resorts this year due to physical distancing.
